Colliding Forms

Collaborative exhibition: 10 - 31 January 2015

Sandra Robinson
Helen Lavery

An exciting collaboration between Sandra Robinson and Helen Lavery – researching the use of 18th century methods for glazing sculptural ceramic forms using traditional etching processes. Thanks to funding from the Arts Council NI and Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee this exhibition will open on the 10th of January in R-Space Gallery, with plans for some wonderful outreach projects and accompanied demonstrations.

Exploring lesser-known ceramic and print combined techniques will act as a starting point for the exploration of historic working methods in conjunction with current technologies and skill share. From mosaic and digital techniques for printmaking to clay sculpting, glazing and preparation for firing. This is a technically challenging proposal, bringing historic methods up to date with modern input, and identifying processes designed for group activities in the creation of works for public exhibition.
